Best Adjustable Dumbbells Under $300 (2026)

My rule for this list: the price has to cover a full pair and stay under $300. Several ranking lists name “under $300” picks that now cost more, or that are sold one dumbbell at a time. I left those out and explain why below.
How I built it: this guide is research-based. I compared Amazon listings, brand specs, and published reviews. I haven’t hands-on tested these sets. Prices are what I saw on Amazon on Oct 20, 2026, unless noted. Prices change daily, so check the current price before you buy.
Comparison table

The picks
1. ATIVAFIT 50 lb Pair: the only 50 lb quick-change pair I found under $300
Amazon lists it as a 50 lb pair, 10-in-1, with a quick dial, storage box, and safety lock. [UNVERIFIED: the minimum weight and the step size; the listing shows 5–50 lb but I couldn’t confirm the steps.] This is the pick if you’ll outgrow 25 lb. Check price on Amazon
2. PowerBlock Sport 24: most compact
Sold as a pair. Adjusts from 3 to 24 lb in 3-lb steps, for 8 settings (Amazon listing). The block design keeps the footprint small, and there are no loose plates. Check price on Amazon
3. LifePro PowerFlow Plus: cheapest quick-select pair
5 to 25 lb per hand in 5-lb steps, with storage trays (VerywellFit, DumbbellGuide). The Amazon listing covers several weights from 2 to 55 lb, as singles or pairs, so pick the 25 lb pair. Check price on Amazon
4. Yes4All 40 lb Pair + Connector: best value per pound
40 lb for the whole set, so 20 lb per hand at most. Amazon lists star lock collars and a connector that turns the pair into a barbell. It’s slower to change weight than a quick-select set. Check price on Amazon
5. Amazon Basics 38 lb Set: cheapest set with a case
Two 3-lb handles, 2.5-lb and 5-lb plates, collars, and a carry case. 19 lb per hand at most. Check price on Amazon
6. Marcy VB-40: lowest upfront cost
Amazon lists it as a 40 lb vinyl set, sold as a pair, 20 lb each. [UNVERIFIED: warranty; Ativafit’s blog cites a 2-year limited warranty] Check price on Amazon
How to choose
- Price the pair. Some dumbbells are sold one at a time. Double the price before you compare.
- Pick your ceiling. Most picks here top out at 19 to 25 lb per hand. If you’re already lifting about 20 lb or more, the 50 lb ATIVAFIT is the only quick-change option here that leaves room to grow.
- Speed vs cost. Quick-change pairs here cost $190 to $270. Plate-loaded sets cost $40 to $55 but take longer to change.
- Storage. Block and tray systems keep everything together. Plate sets need a case or a shelf.
- Warranty. Check the warranty on the listing before you buy.
FAQ
Can I get 50 lb adjustable dumbbells under $300? Yes. The ATIVAFIT 50 lb pair was $269.99 on Amazon on Oct 20, 2026.
Are plate-loaded sets worth it? Yes, if budget matters more than speed. They cost about a fifth of a quick-change pair, but these sets cap out around 19 to 20 lb per hand.
Honorable mention: just over budget
Bowflex SelectTech 552 (Results Series). Bowflex is one of the best-known names in adjustable dumbbells, and the 552 is a popular choice if you can stretch your budget. It’s sold one at a time, so on Amazon on Oct 20, 2026, a single was $199.99, or about $400 for a pair. That’s why it isn’t in my picks under $300.
